COMMISSION on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia on Wednesday bared that the poll body will hold public hearings in the violence-hit towns of Negros Oriental before it would decide whether or not to postpone the scheduled October 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (BSK) elections in the province.

Garcia made the announcement during a public hearing by the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, chaired by Sen. Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, saying that the public hearing would be held when the filing of candidacy in the BSK elections starts on August 28.
