(UPDATE) A DECORATED marine officer from Koronadal City who rose from the ranks formally took over as the 36th commandant of the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC).

Prior to being appointed as the new PMC chief, Maj. Gen. Arturo Rojas, who succeeded Lt. Gen. Charlton Sean Gaerlan, was the commander of the Special Operations Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
