Extreme heat in Vietnam raises climate concerns

HANOI: Scientists say global warming is exacerbating adverse weather conditions in Vietnam this summer after the Southeast Asian country logged a record 44.2 degrees Celsius over the weekend, local media reported on Tuesday.

The temperature was measured indoors at Tuong Duong station in central Nghe An province last Sunday. It topped 44.1 C in northern Thanh Hoa province the day before, surpassing the 43.4 C registered in April 2019, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said.
