Should Filipinos feel more secure now?

Last of 2 parts

SOME critics have suggested that if the Philippine government cannot resist the US effort to get us involved in its competition and conflict with China, we should at least get adequately paid for it. I understand this position, but I am not prepared to be part of it. For me, the issue of national sovereignty is never for sale: the Constitution prohibits the presence of foreign military bases, troops and facilities on Philippine soil after 1991, except under a treaty duly concurred in by the Senate, etc., and no executive agreement like EDCA can nullify or modify it.
