Peso hits P55.76:$1; stock market rebounds

THE peso slumped on Tuesday while the stock market regained some ground ahead of the releaser of first-quarter economic growth data.

The currency weakened by 51 centavos to P55.76 against the dollar, wiping out gains made over the last two weeks.
