Gilas Pilipinas kicked off its gold-medal redemption bid in high gear after annihilating Malaysia, 94-49 at the start of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games men's basketball on Tuesday, May 9 at the Morodok Techno National Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Showing superiority and dominance, the Filipinos showed no mercy against the Malaysians after getting off to a huge 33-12 lead in the opening quarter. The boys of coach Chot Reyes did not look back. The Philippines led, 58-22 at intermission.
