Several areas in Luzon experienced rotating brownouts Monday as the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines declared a red alert, prompting the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) to implement manual load dropping.
Meralco said that the NGCP declared a red alert from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and yellow alert from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
