THE Public Attorney's Office (PAO) has asked the Supreme Court to reconsider a "conflict of interest" provision under its newly approved Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability.

"I and the over 2, 500 public lawyers, as well as PAO personnel are appealing to the honorable Chief Justice to please heed our call to delete that 'detrimental' provision under the new code wherein two PAO lawyers will go against each other in a particular criminal or civil case," PAO Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta said.
