PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued an executive order (EO) creating the Disaster Response and Crisis Management Task Force meant to ensure clear command unity in government efforts in confronting challenges brought about by natural disasters through evidence- and science-based approach in crisis management, Malacañang said Monday.
Under EO 24, which took effect immediately, the Office of the Executive Secretary, Department of National Defense, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Transportation, and Office of Civil Defense will collectively oversee and coordinate preparation, monitoring and evaluation of disaster risk management (DRRM) plans and programs on disaster preparedness and response, as well as providing leadership in developing approaches to disaster prevention, mitigation and response.
