Stiffer penalties for reckless drivers eyed

WITH traffic deaths on the rise, Senate Minority Leader Aquilino 'Koko' Pimentel 3rd appealed to his colleagues in Congress to pass a bill that seeks to impose harsher penalties on those convicted of reckless driving.

Under Senate Bill (SB) 1016, when death is caused by imprudence or by negligence, whether reckless or simple, the accused would not be eligible for probation.
