OFWs back from Sudan get counseling

THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said on Friday that the repatriated Filipinos from conflict-hit Sudan will receive psychosocial counseling assistance to address possible trauma caused by the war.

'Yesterday, there were DSWD officers who were with our team to welcome our fellow Filipinos from Sudan. They immediately gave psychosocial services because most of them went through a lot of trauma, especially children,' DMW Undersecretary Bernard Olalia said in a media briefing.

REPATRIATES ARRIVE. A total of 74 repatriates from war-torn Sudan, consisting of 45 overseas Filipino workers, 22 children, and seven students, arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 in Pasay City on Thursday (May 4, 2023). The overseas workers were each handed a cash aid worth PHP50,000 from the Department of Migrant Workers and will receive PHP50,000 more from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
