THE economy likely grew by 6.1 percent in the first quarter and is expected to stay strong despite global headwinds, an economist said on Wednesday.
"Despite the challenges posed by sticky inflation and elevated rates, the Philippines is not expected to experience stagflation or recession scenarios," said Robert Dan Roces, an economist and Security Bank Corp. assistant vice president.
