Peso, stock market up on cautious optimism

THE peso and the stock market both posted gains on Tuesday following the end of a long weekend.

The currency strengthened by 4 centavos to close at P55.34 to the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange added 47.61 points, or 0.72 percent, to end the day at 6,672.69.
