THROUGH the United States Agency for International Development (USAid), the US government has expressed support for the roll on, roll off (RoRo) shipping service to help boost economic growth in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The RoRo shipping service was launched by the BARMM government on April 25, 2023, and is expected to boost local trade and investment in the region by linking Polloc Port in Parang, Maguindanao to Lamitan, Basilan.The project, led by the BARMM Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), is in partnership with the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and USAid.
