Baguio folk urged to update Covid shots, observe health protocols

BAGUIO CITY: In light of a report of the City Health Services Office (CHSO) under Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes that there is a gradual increase in Covid-19 cases and deaths in the Summer Capital, Mayor Benjamin Magalong urged residents to update their vaccinations. 'We strongly encourage the public to update their Covid-19 booster shots and to get their primary shots if still unvaccinated. Please protect yourself and others,' Magalong said. There were five deaths in April, two of whom were unvaccinated, two unboosted, and one with a booster shot, the CHSO disclosed. Magalong also advised the public to religiously wear masks in crowded indoor settings or avoid crowds altogether. 'Also, use fist or elbow bumps instead of handshakes when greeting others,' he said.
