What I think should be amended

THE partisans of Charter change frequently mention the 'restrictive economic provisions' that they believe should be allowed more slack. It is maintained, with good reason, that many projects that would be beneficial to the nation are capital-intensive. We need investors — but the constitutional restrictions currently in place keep them at bay.

I will, however, take up the provisions that must be addressed if amendments to the Constitution are to be introduced at all.
