(UPDATE) PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will lead the ceremonial jump ball when the country hosts the FIBA World Cup in August, the same privilege given to his father, former president Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., when the tournament then known as the FIBA World Championship was first held in the Philippines in 1978.
Marcos, who was 20 years old at that time, was filled with nostalgia during the courtesy call of the members of the FIBA Central Board and delegates from the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) in Malacañang on Friday.
