GOVERNMENT agencies led by the Department of Energy (DoE) and the National Electrification Administration (NEA) have come up with measures to mitigate the power supply deficiency in Occidental Mindoro.

The DoE has issued a Certificate of Exemption to allow the Occidental Mindoro Electric Cooperative Inc. (Omeco) to enter into a negotiated procurement for an Emergency Power Supply Agreement (EPSA) for 17 megawatts (MW). The NEA is also taking steps to mitigate the power shortage by procuring additional power supplies.
