(UPDATE) WITH the easterlies expected to bring hot, humid weather across the country, residents, especially in Metro Manila, were cautioned by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Thursday to avoid going outdoors, particularly during noontime and early afternoon, when the heat is most intense.

Pagasa is yet to issue a bulletin if its forecast of 40 degrees Celsius heat index for Friday, April 28, had hit the country.
