PREVIOUSLY, I explained that sports draws its roots from the Greek concept of "agon," which means "competition at games" and "conflict." Sports was institutionalized in ancient times to socialize and train youths in general through activities that involved physical exertion for the purpose of readiness for war. This partly explains why the sports mentality of many peoples around the world is to win at all costs.
