Pope appoints new Zamboanga archbishop

MANILA: Pope Francis has appointed 66-year-old Ipil Bishop Julius Tonel as the new archbishop of Zamboanga.

According to the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) news website, the Vatican announced the appointment on Tuesday, April 25.
