GWM Philippines officially marked the first day of its operations on April 11, 2023, with the brand's inaugural launch. The Chinese automaker, which is distributed in the Philippines via Luxuriant Automotive Group Inc., also revealed the prices of its vehicles.

As a recap, GWM will bring in an initial lineup of three vehicles. Starting off with the GWM Haval Jolion subcompact crossover SUV, this vehicle comes in turbocharged and hybrid flavors. The former uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 141 hp and 220 Nm of torque that's mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, while the latter has a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that's mated to an electric motor. Mated to what they call their ingenious dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) with two forward gears, this electrified version has a total output of 186 hp and 375 Nm of torque.
