MANY wonder why I go to CSU everyday despite the fact that I am retired. The simplest answer is of course because I remain a consultant at the university. As a consultant, I am really consulted by the university president particularly on administrative matters.

Of course, I know of "consultants" who draw honoraria without ever being consulted. That is corruption, and we were not reared to be corrupt. Much, besides, by a resolution of the board of regents, my appointment as emeritus professor is not the conferral of a sinecure, but the establishment of a continuing relationship with the university.
