'Death of Tiamzons legitimate encounter'

THE allegations that Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) chairman Benito Tiamzon and his wife Wilma were captured, tortured and killed by government forces last year and that the couple did not die during an armed encounter are all part of the CPP propaganda and an attempt to deceive the Filipino people, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said on Friday.

The AFP maintained that the operation launched by government troops in the seas of Catbalogan City, Samar on Aug. 22, 2022, that resulted in the Tiamzons was a 'legitimate encounter.'
