Breach of promise to marry

Dear PAO,

My girlfriend and I recently celebrated our seventh year together. During our dinner date, my girlfriend excitedly asked me if I had plans of marrying her anytime soon, as I made a promise that I would marry her during the early years of our relationship. I gave her an honest reply — that I was still not ready for a lifelong commitment. To my surprise, my girlfriend went hysterical in the restaurant, which showed that despite the seven long years of togetherness, I still have a lot to discover from her. The following day, she informed me that she will sue me for damages for not marrying her, claiming that I only wasted her time. Will our situation warrant a case for damages?
