CONSIDERING that Gilas Pilipinas is racing against time in its preparations for the 2023 Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia next month, national team assistant coach Jong Uichico said working with a "core of players" and filling the remaining spots with "key role players" is best for the team.
As it is, the Philippines has been playing catch-up in its bid to reclaim the SEA Games men's basketball gold medal.
