DoLE extends P500K for livelihood assistance to Samal PWDs

SAMAL, Bataan: The local government unit here on Tuesday announced that the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) granted P500,000 for livelihood assistance to persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Samal. Town administrator Jay Sammy Lat, who represented the LGU in receiving the financial assistance, said that Mayor Alex Acuzar was very grateful for the concern of the Labor department for those with disabilities. 'It is the mayor's intention to help our PWDs,' the municipal administrator said. Lat said the cash assistance will be divided among the organizations in 14 villages of the Samal Federation of Persons with Disabilities. 'They will build a rice store and other livelihood projects,' he said. Federation President Mario Balingit thanked Mayor Acuzar and DoLE Region 3 (Central Luzon), headed by Geraldine Panlilio, and provincial chief Leilani Reynoso for the help extended to them. Also present in the financial assistance handout were Public Employment Service Office Bataan Manager Maria Eva Basalo and PESO Samal chief Portia Tuazon.
