THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Wednesday said it will likely issue the El Niño Alert next month, as the probability of its occurrence now stands at 80 percent.
Analiza Solis, Pagasa's Climate Monitoring and Prediction Section chief, said the probability of an El Niño occurrence has increased from the previous 55 percent to 80 percent from June to September.
