DoH prepares for El Niño

THE Department of Health (DoH) was ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to prepare for the possible health effects of the El Niño phenomenon that will hit the country this year.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that it expects a 'strong' El Niño beginning in July this year which may persist until 2024, which could lead to warmer temperatures which could lead to drought conditions.
