The need for strong alliances

IT is indeed notable that Senators JV Ejercito and Risa Hontiveros, and Senate President Migs Zubiri have, in separate statements, called for the need for a broader alliance between the Philippines and its allied countries to expand defense cooperation in the South China Sea.

It certainly puts into practice the advice of preeminent China expert Kevin Rudd for claimant states in Southeast Asia to move in a pack rather than act as lone wolves; there is strength in unity, after all.
