THE National Telecommunications Commission on Monday said it will meet with stakeholders to discuss the request of the major telecom companies to extend the subscriber identification module (SIM) registration whose deadline is next week.

Earlier, Globe Telecoms, Smart Communication and DITO Telecommunity appealed to the government to "accept" other identification cards such as company and school IDs to speed up the process of registering SIM cards.
