AROUND 5,000 consumers protested on Saturday night against an electric cooperative and a power provider for giving them only four hours of power supply daily.
The consumers from the towns of San Jose, Magsaysay, Rizal, Calintaan, Sablayan, Mamburao, Paluan, Sta. Cruz and Abra de Ilog in Occidental Mindoro staged their protest against worsening power outages to call the attention of national government agencies as well as to conduct a special meeting with the management of Occidental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (Omeco) to address power issues affecting the general welfare of the people of the province.
