Expand EV tariff breaks coverage, Palace urged

MALACAÑANG is being urged to expand the coverage of tariff breaks for electric vehicles (EVs) to help entice more Filipinos to make the shift to 'green transport.'

Professor Louie Montemar of the Stratbase ADR Institute said the suspension of tariff for EVs and its components must be financially inclusive, pointing out that the exclusion of the two and three-wheeled vehicles under Executive Order No. discriminates against the working class who can only afford motorcycles.
