ZAMBOANGA CITY: A policeman was wounded after gunmen attacked a police barracks in the Muslim province of Basilan in southern Philippines, a known stronghold of radical Islamic rebels fighting for the establishment of a caliphate in the restive region.
The raid took place on Wednesday evening, April 12, in the town of Tipo-Tipo and wounded Cpl. Naser Jain, who is assigned with the Basilan Provincial Mobile Force Company.
