THE peso and the stock market fell further on Thursday with investors said to have been spooked about news of a possible US recession.

The currency weakened by 4 centavos to close at P55.26 against the dollar, while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) shed 20.55 points, or 0.32 percent, to end the day at 6,448.87.
