GRADUATE education has become a focus of students desiring to improve on their qualifications for a secured career — a niche in the job world whether in the academe, in business, in health, in the military or in other fields of expertise that the job world needs. Today, we go through the academic journey, describing every mile post leading to a graduate degree and what alternative levels to expect and the goals and nature of academic programs available in higher education systems across continents.
Graduate education. A general reference to graduate education is education beyond the bachelor's degree during which students learn to do research and study to gain more depth of knowledge in one's field of study. The terms "graduate" and "postgraduate degree" are used interchangeably. They mean the same. A graduate/postgraduate degree covers everything from postgraduate diplomas to master's degrees to doctoral degrees. Essentially, any degree that requires an undergraduate (bachelor's/baccalaureate) degree as an admissions prerequisite can be considered a postgraduate degree. Pursuing a postgraduate degree can gain a student specialized knowledge, demonstrating the student's dedication to his/her field. Too, it can widen networking capabilities.
