THE Department of Agriculture (DA) is looking at strategies to help lessen the impact of El Niño on the agriculture and fisheries industry in the Philippines.
One such strategy is constructing more water-related infrastructure such as hydroelectric power plants, flood control projects and irrigation systems to restore the productivity of areas that will be affected by El Niño.
