(UPDATE) TOP officials of the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) on Tuesday signed a manifesto as they called on the top leadership of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to stop its members from red-tagging and profiling public lawyers who were only doing their sworn duty.

The manifesto was signed by PAO chief Persida Rueda-Acosta, Deputy Chief Silvestre Mosing, Deputy Chief Ana Lisa Soriano, Head Executive Assistant and Regional Public Attorney (Region 4-A) Revelyn Ramos-Dacpano, Special and Appealed Cases Service chief Ronald Macorol, Administrative Service chief Demiteer Huerta, Field Operations and Statistics chief Rigel Salvador, Legal Research Service chief Ronald Jerome Nieves and Legal Research Service chief Maria Joy Karen Adraneda, a copy of which was furnished to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Vice President Sara Duterte, and Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr.
