Tapales new WBA, IBF champion

(UPDATE) FILIPINO Marlon Tapales scored an upset split decision victory over Uzbek Murodjon Akhmadaliev to become the new unified World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) super bantamweight champion.

The fight was held at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday (Manila time).
