MORE than 60 years ago, whenever I returned to the university campus from the province after school vacations, dorm mates and schoolmates from the Visayan islands always mentioned that it took their boat almost a day to traverse Mindoro island.
As geographically presented, Mindoro is listed as the seventh-largest island in the Philippine archipelago — Luzon, Mindanao, Samar, Negros, Palawan, Panay and Mindoro.
