Maybank: 2023 inflation to hit 5.9%

PHILIPPINE inflation could moderate this year to just below the current official forecast, Maybank Investment Banking Group said.

Consumer price growth will likely average 5.9 percent in 2023, it reiterated in a report on Wednesday. While up a tad from the prior year's 5.8-percent result, it is also marginally lower than the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' (BSP) 6.0-percent forecast as of March.
