'Outer space should not be used for fighting'

THE Philippine Mission to the United Nations has stressed the urgent need to make nuclear-weapon states to account for their disarmament obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Ambassador Antonio Lagdameo, permanent representative of the Philippine Mission to the United Nations, emphasized that outer space should remain exclusively for peaceful purposes, and opposed any attempt to turn outer space into a war fighting domain.
