Good Friday highlights Holy Week activities in Gen. Luna, Quezon

GEN. LUNA, Quezon: Good Friday will be the highlight of the 7-day Buhay na Kubol (Living Stations of the Cross) for this town's Holy Week activities.

Mayor Matt Erwin Florido said they showcased on Friday morning the 'Parada ng Penitensya' (Procession of Penance), a Lenten tradition where people flog themselves, mostly their backs, using a short whip-like contraption, as penance for their sins.

The 12th ‘kubol’ or station of the 14 Stations of the Cross in Gen. Luna, Quezon shows Jesus dying in the cross with local artists acting out the life and passion of Jesus Christ in all the stations. PHOTO FROM THE FB PAGE OF MAYOR MATT FLORIDO
