Fishing groups oppose FAO 266 suspension

FISHING groups oppose the suspension of Fisheries Administrative Order (FAO) 266 requiring commercial fishing vessels to have monitoring systems.

In a press briefing on Tuesday, an official of Oceana Philippines and a fishery scientist expressed opposition to the memorandum issued by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on March 13, 2023 seeking to suspend the implementation of FAO 266.
