A RETIRED military officer's threat to impeach the chairman and four other commissioners of the Commission on Elections (if they failed to provide vital information related to the May 9, 2022 election) has led to a comedy of errors involving the Comelec, a three–man post–election transparency team and a sizeable group of former high-ranking military officers.

Unlike any other comedy, no one is laughing. Invoking his constitutional right as a citizen, retired Col. Leonardo O. Odoño, a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1964, threatened action against the Comelec commissioners if they failed to validate certain data related to the first-hour vote count after the voting ended at 7 p.m. on May 9, 2022.
