Cordillera mines see higher number of women workers

BAGUIO CITY: The Cordillera office of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB–CAR) and mining industry stakeholders disclosed that the number of women workers being employed by various mining firms and industrial sand and gravel companies in the region have increased with the onset of technology.

MGB–CAR Regional Director Fay Apil, an engineer, said more than 10 percent of the employees of the four operating large-scale mining companies are women who occupy managerial, mid-level, and supervisory positions.
