BAGUIO CITY: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office CAR led by Regional Director Leo Quintilla together with the City Social Welfare and Development Office facilitated the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) payout held in three areas in the city. The cash assistance is extended through the DSWD's AICS. At the first payout site at Bakakeng Central Barangay Hall, the field office extended P3,000 cash aid to 500 beneficiaries including solo parents, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and indigent families. For the second payout site at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, 500 target beneficiaries who are inpatients of the hospital were provided P3,000 cash assistance while 1,415 beneficiaries were given educational assistance amounting to P10,000 at the third payout site at Baguio Central School. The target beneficiaries include the family of the affected market vendors of the Baguio Public Market by a fire incident which occurred recently. Joining the payout activity were OIC–ARD for Operations Amelyn Cabrera, Sen. Christopher Lawrence 'Bong' Go, Sen. Robinhood Padilla, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan, and Soledad Go representing his husband Rep. Mark Go. The provision of cash assistance was made possible with the DSWD Field Office CAR Crisis Intervention Unit, City Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Baguio City Police Office.
