SEN. Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go has maintained that the proposed military pension reform should only apply to new entrants or those who will join the military in the future. Go noted that finance managers aim to reform the military's pension system to avoid a financial disaster.

He also strongly opposed the proposal to require active military personnel to pay their mandatory contributions to the pension fund of the military. In a chance interview on March 31, Go said, "Rest assured that any measure that I will push or support related to the military and uniformed personnel will always be for their betterment."
