DEPARTMENT of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman announced on Jan. 13, 2023 the release of P14 billion to the Department of National Defense-Armed Forces of the Philippines (DND-AFP). She said the timely release of the fund that covers the regular pension of some 137,649 military retirees for the first quarter of 2023 is one of government's initiatives to recognize the critical role that soldiers perform for the security and stability of the country.
"It is our responsibility to make sure that our retirees, as well as their families, always get the benefits entitled to them. This is the least we can do to show them our sincerest gratitude and respect," Secretary Pangandaman was quoted as saying.
