(UPDATE) POLICE have identified the suspect in the killing of a 24-year-old graduating De La Salle University (DLSU)–Dasmariñas student on March 28, 2023.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. on Friday said Angelito Erlano is now the subject of a massive manhunt after he was tagged as the person who stabbed Queen Leanne Daguinsin.
Erlano's residence in Barangay San Nicolas 2 was located by authorities through CCTV backtracking.
The suspect apparently went home to change his clothes after allegedly committing the crime.
He, however, was able to evade arrest.
His bag and several pieces of clothing that he apparently wore during the killing are now in the possession of authorities.
The police also found out that the suspect was previously involved in theft and is also accused of molesting a daughter of his nephew.
Erlano's mug shot has been released by authorities to help in his immediate arrest.
A P1.1-million bounty has been offered for anyone who can provide information on the suspect's whereabouts.
'We condemn this heinous crime and we will not stop until the perpetrator is put behind bars. We call on the public to cooperate with the authorities and report any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect,' Azurin said.
The Special Investigation Task Group Daguinsin met on Friday to discuss the latest developments in what is now being considered as robbery with homicide case.
Daguinsin, a computer science major at DLSU-Dasmariñas and a native of Bulilan Sur, Pila, Laguna, was found stabbed dead inside the dormitory where she was staying on Tuesday.
